Sacred Sites. The Library of Esotericism

An invitation to journey through the history of sacred art and architecture, Sacred Sites explores the myriad ways in which we imbue our environment with deep and lasting meaning. From the moment we designated nature and the body as temples to our futuristic apprehension of imaginary territories, we traverse the vast mystical landscapes of myth, religion, and imagination.

As we gather, we breathe spirit into our spaces, we circle around the fire, we prostrate ourselves before the forest altar, we give thanks in the temples of our chosen deities. Through pilgrimage, we carve indelible paths, a meditative way that crosses continents, sacred lands trodden again and again by successive generations. And through our creative offerings to the spirit, we envision new worlds, unbridled odes to what we hold sacred, golden temples carved from rock, enormous spirals sculpted from sand and earth, silent sanctuaries hidden in the woods. We paint the walls of ancient caves, we engrave petroglyphs to indicate a direction, we place roses in candlelit niches.
