A STILL-WARM SCONE, A COLD CORPSE: DARE TO DISCOVER THE MOST DELICIOUS COSY MYSTERY OF THE YEAR!
If you're looking for a cosy crime novel that can warm up your evenings without sacrificing suspense? You've just found it!
Discover a detective novel where suspense melts in your mouth… A book blending humor, delicacy, and gentle crime.
SYNOPSIS
Little Hollow is not just a postcard-perfect setting: it's a theater of aromas, gossip, and passions hidden behind pastel shutters. In the first light of a misty Monday morning, the window of the Delacroix pastry shop still exudes cinnamon and melted butter when the lifeless body of an unknown man is discovered inside. The scones are still steaming on the tray; the corpse, however, is already cooling...
Amelia Hartwell, a bookseller with an infallible nose, soon uncovers a notebook of coded recipes: throughout the pages, flour measurements conceal coordinates, cooking times mask dates, and every pencil annotation seems to point to a forgotten treasure in the hills.
The antique dealer Mr. Edwards, a collector of objects and ancient quarrels, clearly hides more secrets than he has dusty trinkets on his shelves. As the news spreads faster than homemade jam, the small community begins to fracture: thwarted loves, debts of honor, old legends… The further Amelia digs, the more the investigation proves to be as flaky as a salted butter scone.
And as the church clock approaches midnight, Amelia realizes that, to save her village, she must decode the last line of the notebook: the one that tells of a vengeance fermented for over thirty years.
If you enjoy gourmet detective novels where humor cuts through anxiety like a buttered knife, this cosy mystery will have you devouring the pages faster than a plate of still-warm scones. Open the book… and dare to discover what truly lies beneath the silence of Little Hollow!
