"Only he who has been through the night can tell its tale."
Michel Bussi's landmark novel.
A masterful work blending suspense and History.
"A country so beautiful, seen from the sky.
A country, at man's height, so cruel."
October 1990.
French Captain Jorik Arteta, on a mission in Rwanda, meets Espérance, a young teacher involved in her country's democratic transition.
April 6, 1994.
A flash rips through the Kigali sky. The Rwandan president's Falcon explodes in mid-air. One hundred days of terror and blood begin. The perpetrators of the missile attacks will never be identified. Someone, however, knows the truth.
Christmas 2024.
Jorik, his daughter, and his granddaughter fly to Rwanda. All are pursuing their own quest, tormented by the ghosts of the past.
In Les Ombres du monde, Michel Bussi brings History into the novel and the novel into History, masterfully intertwining the novel's construction with historical facts.
A dazzling fresco, at the crossroads of three generations, on the transmission of memory, whose twists and turns powerfully reveal the experience of violence, loss, and forgiveness.
A language where poignant images emerge at the heart of the tragic and cross, on a thread, the shadows of the world.

Exceptionnel !
