November 11, 1918.
In her village in Isère, Rose celebrates the end of the war with her family, hoping for happy days at last. The very next day, her husband is bedridden with the Spanish flu, which is wreaking havoc. Carried away by the illness, he leaves Rose devastated and without resources.
Thanks to the support of her neighbors and her brother, who has returned from the front, she manages to get hired at the village château, which resumes its spa activities after the war. Among the wealthy clients who come for a cure, Rose meets Marguerite Cottin, owner of a world-renowned glove-making house in Grenoble. Under the influence of this strong-willed woman, Rose decides to take her destiny into her own hands, relying on the only talent she acknowledges: sewing and embroidering gloves.
Will a needle and thread be enough to dispel Rose's doubts about her ability to start a business in a rapidly changing world? Despite the obstacles she faces, will she manage to rebuild her life while helping those dear to her to do the same?
