Four days! Only four days remain before the "night of the changing season" which will see the deliverance of the cursed god Ramor and the ruin of Akbar. Four days before reaching the Finger of Heaven, an immense rocky peak planted in the middle of the estuary of the Dol River, and the presumed hiding place of the Time Bird that Fol de Dol, the formidable Master of the River, revealed to them. Between the companions of the quest and the Time Bird, there is still one major obstacle. They must cross the lair of the Rige. But who is the Rige? "The Rige knows only one duty! Only one law! The hunt! And anyone who crosses the borders of his domain is sure to pay the toll with their blood!"
The appearance of the no less legendary knight Bragon is an extraordinary godsend for this tireless hunter: to measure himself against the only person on Akbar who can truthfully claim to be his equal. He will therefore only allow him and his companions Pélisse and the Mysterious Stranger to cross his territory at the cost of a merciless chase whose only possible outcome is death.
But is it really fear that makes Bragon refuse the challenge? What is the bond that unites him to the Rige? ... But the fiery Pélisse cannot stand the Quest being delayed, and her impetuosity will force Bragon to confront the being he fears and admires the most. Under the moons of Akbar, in the inextricable and murderous jungle of the Rige's territory, the most extraordinary of duels begins ...
