The legendary knight Bragon believes he has put an end to his adventurous life, whose exploits filled the richest hours of Akbar's storytellers. Now old, he yearns only for rest, retired as he is on his farm in the highlands of Médir. But tranquility is not for heroes. One day, Pélisse arrives, a wild, red-headed young virgin with generous curves, accompanied by her Furrier, a strange animal with mysterious powers. She brings him a message from her mother, the sorceress-princess Mara, herself Bragon's former lover.
The situation is dire: Ramor, the accursed god, will soon emerge from the conch where the gods had imprisoned him to contain his lust for power. Destruction and death would then spread across Akbar without anyone being able to oppose it. Only eight days remain before the "night of the changing season," when the enchantment holding Ramor prisoner will end. Mara needs the Bird of Time, for it is the only one capable of stopping time, which would allow her to complete, before the end of the eight days, the overly long incantation that binds Ramor to the conch.
But the first challenge of the quest will be to retrieve Ramor's Conch, jealously guarded by Shan-Thung, the sorcerer-prince of the March of the Shattered Lands. Solicited by his old love, annoyed by the fiery spirit and insolence of Pélisse who claims to be his daughter, Bragon draws his trusty scythe from its sheath and embarks without further hesitation on what will be the most perilous undertaking ever seen on Akbar: The Quest for the Bird of Time!...

The legendary knight Bragon believes he is done with his adventurous life, whose exploits provided the richest tales for the storytellers of Akbar. Now old, he yearns only for rest, retired on his farm in the highlands of Médir. But tranquility is not for heroes. One day, Pélisse, a wild, red-haired young virgin with generous curves, arrives accompanied by her "Fourreux," a strange animal with mysterious powers. She brings him a message from her mother, the sorceress-princess Mara, who was once Bragon's lover. The situation is dire: Ramor, the cursed god, is about to emerge from the conch shell where the gods had imprisoned him to contain his thirst for power. Destruction and death would then spread across Akbar, with no one able to oppose it. Only eight days remain until the "night of the changing season," when the enchantment holding Ramor captive will end. Mara needs the Bird of Time, for it alone can stop time, allowing her to complete, before the eight days are up, the overly long incantation that binds Ramor to the conch. But the first trial of the quest will be to retrieve Ramor's Conch, jealously guarded by Shan-Thung, the sorcerer-prince of the March of the Shattered Lands. Persuaded by his former love, annoyed by the fiery spirit and insolence of Pélisse, who claims to be his daughter, Bragon draws his trusty scythe from its sheath and embarks without further hesitation on what will be the most perilous undertaking ever seen on Akbar: The Quest for the Bird of Time! ...
