This work highlights correspondences between contemporary advances in cognitive neuroscience on the process of the emergence of the mind and facts already present over 4,000 years ago in ancient Egypt on this same subject, which are recorded in the Temple of Luxor, the temple of the royal spirit (ka), through the symbolism of its architecture and decoration.
This knowledge had been established in ancient Egypt around 2,500 BCE, and it had resulted in a sudden and major break in funerary practices still in use worldwide.
By placing this ancient knowledge in perspective with modern theories about the mind, my work sheds new light on the history of ideas and the evolution of our understanding of the human mind.
I thus hope to generate interest among cognitive science researchers, historians of science, and the general public passionate about these topics.
