The postcard

The postcard arrived in our mailbox amidst traditional greeting cards. It was unsigned, the sender wanted to remain anonymous. On one side was the Opéra Garnier, and on the other, the names of my mother's grandparents, her aunt and uncle, who died in Auschwitz in 1942.

Twenty years later, I decided to find out who had sent us this postcard, exploring all the hypotheses that would open up to me.
I retraced the epic destiny of the Rabinovitches, their flight from Russia, their journey to Latvia then Palestine. And finally, their arrival in Paris, with the war and its disaster.
